Promising Partners Attends ADI's 2007 Annual Conference

On January 26 through January 30, I had the opportunity to attended Assistance Dogs International's (ADI) annual conference in Baltimore, MD.  Promising Partners became a provisional member of ADI last November and will spend the next 5 years working our way up to becoming a full voting member. 

The conference was amazing!  I had the opportunity to meet so many different people who all had experiences to share.  Many of the people I met were also in the process of starting a new program, just like us.  Others were leaders from well established organizations that could offer advice from their personal experiences. 

The sessions covered everything from cross training assistance dogs, to marketing and to legal matters concerning service dog organizations.  There were also several presentations from organizations that are creating new ways to use service dogs as well as testimonials from people who are currently using service dogs. 

As far as conferences go, this is by far the best experience I have ever had.  I came home feeling encouraged, empowered, and excited to be working in this field!
