Promising Partners
Selects First Service Dog Recipient |
In June of 2008, Promising Partner's dog, Jax,
started his full time training. He has proven to be a very
positive and driven dog when it comes to service work. Our
best guess at his personal theme is that "life is a party."
Jax seems to be able to turn any situation, bad or good, into a
party and enjoy himself! His training has gone pretty
easily and in October I began to interview service dog
applicants to see who would be a potential fit for the role of
his partner. I didn't have to look long before we found
her.
Addie Goodman and I met in October along with
her mother and sister and, of course, Jax. During our
meeting it was clear to me that Jax's skills and Addie's needs
met each other right on. Not to mention the fact that Jax
very obviously had an immediate fondness for Addie.
Addie lives in Scott City, KS with her
parents, who are her caretakers and runs her own web-design
business. We plan to start their team training at the end
of February! This is an exciting time for Promising
Partners with the placement of our first dog, but even more so
for Addie who will be able to benefit from the generosity of all
of those who have made this placement possible!
